After medical discharge from the RAF I attended Guildford Technical College to get O and A levels and studied Philosophy at Trinity College, Dublin.

After a spell of Research work in Logic at University College and the London School of Economics I was appointed Lecturer in Philosophy at Trinity.

My interests changed again around 1980 and I began to specialise in Psychoanalysis. which my wife also practises. I am pleased to say there are now three Masters degrees in Psychoanalysis at Trinity, two of which I helped found.

Now a Senior Lecturer in Philosophy and Logic, I am currently involved in compiling an Encyclopaedia of Psychoanalysis for the Edinburgh University Press which will be launched at the Tavistock Clinic, London in July 2006.  More recently I have been more involved in writing fiction.
